There is an in-depth section on the culture where users can learn about South Africa and even practice speaking in the native languages.
The Global Voices Comprehensive series is intended as a resource for the study of a particular culture. Its holistic approach covers music and arts, as well as history, language, and textiles. It is a must for social studies classrooms. Now available is the volume on Azerbaijan.
About GViS
A powerful way to develop an understanding of people who think, live and make music in ways that are unfamiliar is to re-create their music. Through singing and moving, they come to know something of the culture through their senses. Knowing in this way is different from knowing facts about a culture. Global Voices in Song (GVIS) provides primary sources when presenting music from diverse cultures to groups of singers or listeners in classrooms and choirs. The visual models of games and dances from around the globe bring music and culture to life. “Our” way — that is, common practice in music education--has been to teach songs from notation out of a book. By contrast, singing and moving "their" way demonstrates respect for them and honors the cultures from which they come.
